Spinner® Turf Insecticide is a modern combination insecticide designed to deliver consistent control of Argentine Stem Weevil larvae throughout the summer period, helping protect high-value turf surfaces such as golf greens from severe damage. Spinner also provides effective preventative and early curative control of a range of other destructive turf insect larvae, including African Black Beetle, Argentinian Scarab and Billbug.
Developed for professional turf managers, Spinner offers flexibility in timing and use, allowing it to be applied both preventatively and early curatively across multiple pest pressures.
Spinner is supplied in a 1 kg pack size and is formulated as a water dispersible granule (WG). The formulation has minimal odour and non-staining properties, making it easy to handle and apply in professional turf situations.
Key Benefits of Spinner Insecticide
- Combination insecticide that rapidly controls the larvae of beetles, weevils and Lepidoptera species
- Highly effective solution for the management of Argentine Stem Weevil in bent/poa golf greens
- An option that is equally as effective as a preventative or early curative treatment
- Excellent complementary product with Acelepryn Turf Insecticide for season long control of insect pest larvae, on all your turf surfaces
How Does Spinner® Turf Insecticide Work?
Spinner works by targeting the larval stages of key turf insect pests before extensive damage occurs. Its combination chemistry allows for rapid knockdown of active larvae while also providing preventative protection when applied ahead of peak pest activity.
By focusing on early life stages in the soil, thatch or plant tissue, Spinner helps prevent visible surface damage and reduces the long-term impact of insect feeding on turf health and playability.
Application Timing and Pest Management Strategy
Spinner can be used as either a preventative or early curative insecticide depending on the target pest and seasonal conditions.
For African Black Beetle, Argentinian Scarab and Billbug, Spinner should be applied from spring onwards, targeting the early stages of population development. Timing is best guided by historical pest pressure, seasonal trends, or the observation of early damage symptoms caused by active larvae.
For Argentine Stem Weevil, Spinner can be applied at multiple times throughout spring and summer to coincide with generational activity of young larvae in the soil, thatch or within plant stems.
For caterpillars, Spinner provides rapid curative control and should be applied when pest presence or damage is observed.
Where to Use Spinner® Turf Insecticide
Spinner is suitable for use across a wide range of managed turf environments, including:
Golf greens, particularly bentgrass and Poa annua surfaces
Sports turf and other professional turf surfaces
Any turf area requiring control of beetle, weevil or caterpillar larvae
It integrates well into insect management programs and complements Acelepryn® for extended seasonal protection.
