How Does Pennmag® Turf Herbicide Work?

Pennmag works by inhibiting early weed establishment through pre-emergent activity. When applied prior to weed emergence, it forms a protective barrier in the soil that controls germinating weeds while allowing turfgrass roots to develop freely.

The optimised S-metolachlor formulation provides effective short-term weed suppression without compromising turf recovery. This balance of activity and turf safety makes Pennmag particularly valuable during periods where turf is vulnerable but weed pressure remains high.

Application Timing and Programming Flexibility

Pennmag can provide up to eight weeks of residual weed control when applied before weed emergence. Its high safety to newly developing turfgrass roots offers flexibility during high-risk recovery periods, including turf regrowth after harvesting and early spring sports field recovery.

In turf production systems, Pennmag can be applied immediately to the cut face following harvesting to ensure regrowth occurs without weed competition during the critical first six weeks.
