Medallion® Turf Fungicide is a powerful contact-plus fungicide designed to deliver exceptional spore control on turf leaf surfaces, within the thatch layer, and across the soil surface. It attacks germinating spores and developing fungal mycelium, allowing turf managers to rapidly clean up disease pressure and protect exposed plant surfaces.
Unlike traditional contact fungicides, Medallion has an extended reach into leaf tissue, providing a wider early curative window and making it a reliable option when disease pressure is building but symptoms are not yet fully developed.
Medallion is supplied in a 5 L pack size and formulated as a high-quality suspension concentrate (SC). The formulation features very fine milling for excellent suspensibility, minimal odour, and reliable performance in spray mixtures.
Key benefits of Medallion Turf Fungicide
- A reach that is greater than standard contacts through activity on and in the leaf
- Good residual disease control at low product use rates
- High quality suspension concentrate formulation with incredibly fine milling
- that optimises coverage and distribution – in the tank and on the turf
- Rainfastness to ensure the protection stays in place once applied
- Activity on hard to control diseases like Anthracnose in the thatch and on the soil surface
- Strong resistance management abilities when used in rotation with multi-site products like Daconil Weather Stik Turf Fungicide
How Does Medallion® Turf Fungicide Work?
Medallion works by targeting germinating fungal spores and developing mycelium before they can establish within turf tissue. Its contact-plus behaviour allows it to act on external surfaces while extending slightly into the leaf, increasing its effectiveness compared with standard contact fungicides.
This extended reach widens the early curative window, allowing turf managers to intervene earlier in disease development and prevent infections from progressing into more damaging stages.
Application Timing and Disease Management Strategy
Medallion is ideally positioned for preventative and early curative applications, particularly during periods of cool, wet weather when disease pressure increases.
For example, as cool and wet conditions develop from late autumn into winter, the infection window for Winter Fusarium begins to open. Under these conditions, Medallion can be applied at 3 L/ha as a proactive preventative treatment. If minor disease activity is observed, Medallion should be applied immediately as an early curative measure.
For more advanced infections, Medallion should be followed or replaced with stronger systemic options such as Instrata® or Banner® Maxx Turf Fungicide, in line with label directions.
For full application details, rates, and intervals, always consult the product label.
Where to Use Medallion® Turf Fungicide
Medallion is suited to use across professional turf surfaces where foliar, thatch, and surface-level disease pressure is a concern, including:
- Golf greens and tees
- Sports turf and fine turf areas
- High-risk surfaces prone to Anthracnose or Fusarium
It is particularly valuable in programs where early intervention and resistance management are priorities.
