Headway® Maxx Fungicide combines the strength, longevity, and broad-spectrum performance of Heritage® Maxx with the speed and early curative action of Banner® Maxx in one advanced formulation. This dual-active fungicide provides fast disease suppression followed by long-lasting residual protection, making it equally effective as an early curative treatment and as part of a longer-term preventative program.
Designed for high-performance turf, Headway Maxx delivers consistent disease control during periods of intense pressure, heavy traffic, and challenging environmental conditions.
Key benefits of Headway Maxx Fungicide
- Broad spectrum of major turf diseases including Dollar Spot, Pythium, Anthracnose, Brown Patch and the ERI complex (Couch Decline and Take-all Patch)
- Fast stopping power combined with long lasting residual control of new growth for up to 28 days
- Tank mixture with Daconil Weather Stik combines systemic and contact action for high risk periods
- MAXX technology allows for excellent tank mix compatibility with other fungicides, Primo Maxx and foliar fertilisers
- Low odour, non-staining formulation
How Headway® Maxx Fungicide Works
Headway Maxx contains two complementary active ingredients that work together to deliver both fast curative activity and extended residual control.
Azoxystrobin (62 g/L), a Group 11 strobilurin fungicide, provides strong preventative activity and long-lasting protection of new growth. Propiconazole (104 g/L), a Group 3 demethylation inhibitor (DMI), delivers rapid systemic movement and early curative control.
This combination allows Headway Maxx to stop active disease quickly while protecting turf against reinfection for up to 28 days, making it highly effective under sustained disease pressure.
Disease Control Strategy and Application Timing
Headway Maxx can be used as part of an early curative response or incorporated into a structured preventative program.
During periods of high disease pressure such as warm, humid conditions combined with heavy golf traffic—two consecutive applications at 9 L/ha are recommended. For example, greens can be treated once in mid-November and again 28 days later in mid-December to maintain full protection through peak risk periods such as the Christmas holiday season.
For full application details, always refer to the product label.
Where to Use Headway® Maxx Fungicide
Headway Maxx is ideally suited to high-value and high-pressure turf environments, including:
-
Golf course greens, tees, and fairways
-
Sports fields and stadium turf
-
Bowling greens and high-quality fine turf surfaces
-
Couch and Bentgrass turf where ERI, Dollar Spot, or summer disease pressure is present
Its combination of fast curative action and long residual control makes it particularly effective on intensively managed turf surfaces.
Mixing and Compatibility
Headway Maxx is formulated as a micro emulsion concentrate (ME) with minimal odour and no petroleum solvents. It mixes completely with water and is compatible with many commonly used fungicides and liquid fertilisers, providing flexibility in integrated turf management programs.
