Destiny® is a selective turf herbicide designed to provide effective post-emergent control of both grass and broadleaf weeds in managed turf. It is based on the active ingredient iodosulfuron-methyl, a sulfonylurea herbicide known for its low use rates and excellent turf selectivity.
Destiny delivers outstanding control of common turf weeds such as clover, bindii and ryegrass, while offering unique and unsurpassed efficacy against onion weed (Guildford grass / onion grass). It provides a high level of safety on couch and kikuyu, with good tolerance on most buffalo grass varieties when used according to the label.
Key Benefits of Destiny® Herbicide
Destiny provides reliable control of hard-to-kill weeds while maintaining turf quality and safety. Its broad spectrum of activity allows multiple weed species to be controlled with a single application, reducing the need for repeat treatments. The low application rate makes Destiny an economical choice, while its sulfonylurea chemistry delivers a high level of environmental safety when applied as directed.
How Destiny® Herbicide Works
Destiny is absorbed through the leaves and roots of actively growing weeds and is translocated throughout the plant. It works by inhibiting key growth processes, causing weeds to stop growing and gradually die off. For best performance, applications should be made when weeds are actively growing to ensure effective uptake and control.
What Destiny® Controls
Destiny provides selective control of a wide range of grass and broadleaf weeds, including:
-
Clover
-
Bindii
-
Ryegrass
-
Onion weed (Guildford grass / onion grass)
Its performance against onion weed makes Destiny a valuable option where other turf herbicides may provide limited control.
Application Rates and Delivery
Destiny should be applied using ground-based spray equipment. Ensure equipment is correctly calibrated prior to use and aim for even spray coverage across all target weeds. Avoid overlapping spray areas.
Apply with the boom no higher than 50 cm above the turf, using flat fan nozzles and a medium droplet size.
Application rates range from 25–150 g/ha, depending on weed species.
Use a water volume of 200–500 L/ha.
Always refer to the product label for specific rate and application guidance.
Safety Instructions
Destiny may irritate the eyes. Avoid contact with eyes and wear elbow-length PVC gloves and goggles when handling. If product enters the eyes, rinse immediately with water. Wash hands after use, and clean gloves and goggles after each day’s application. Ensure spray tanks are thoroughly cleaned according to label directio
Where to Use Destiny®
Destiny® Herbicide is suitable for use on golf courses, particularly on turf surfaces dominated by couch, kikuyu and buffalo grass, where selective weed control and turf safety are critical.
