Bow & Arrow Herbicide is Australia’s leading solution for the control of broadleaf weeds in turf. Specifically formulated for use on a wide range of warm and cool season grasses, this powerful herbicide delivers long-lasting results with exceptional turf safety. Bow & Arrow contains a unique three-way mix of MCPA, clopyralid, and diflufenican, offering season-long control of even the most stubborn broadleaf weeds without rapid desiccation or regrowth.
Key features and benefits of Bow & Arrow Herbicide:
-
Outstanding control of broadleaf weeds including White Clover, Capeweed, Bindii, Cudweed, Cat’s Ear, Plantain, and Creeping Oxalis
-
Superior turf safety on cool and warm season grasses such as Couch, Kikuyu, Buffalo, Carpet Grass, and more
-
Low-odour, non-ester formulation reduces risk of off-target damage
-
Resistance management: combination of three active ingredients with different modes of action for improved resistance
-
S5 Scheduling: safer to handle compared to Schedule 6 herbicides
-
No additional surfactant needed for most weeds
-
Low use rates: just 5L per hectare in 200–500L of water
-
High level of efficacy & quality formulation
Unlike many fast-acting herbicides that can cause surface burn and allow weeds to recover from their root systems, Bow & Arrow Herbicide works more slowly and thoroughly. The result? More effective, long-term control with minimal regrowth.
What weeds are controlled by Bow and Arrow herbicide?
Bow and Arrow controls common broadleaf weeds including
- White Clover (Trifolium repens)
- Plantain (Plantago lanceolata)
- Capeweed (Arctotheca calendula)
- Cat’s ear (Hypochoeris radicata)
- Bindii (Jo-Jo, Onehunga) (Soliva sessilis)
- Cudweed (Gnaphalium spp.)
- Creeping oxalis (Oxalis corniculata)
Application Guidelines and Directions for Use for Bow and Arrow Herbicide
For best results using Bow and Arrow, the turf and weeds should be actively growing at the time of treatment. Complete weed death may take up to 6 weeks. Faster results can be expected on smaller weeds. Due to residual effects of diflufenican over-seeding treated areas within 3 months of application may inhibit establishment of the turf grass.
- Apply to actively growing weeds for best results
- Avoid spraying if rain is expected within 4 hours or if turf/weeds are under stress
- Avoid mowing during the 3 to 4 days before and after treatment.
- Do not apply if frosts are imminent
- Transient discolouration may occur on Kikuyu, Carpet Grass, and Queensland Blue Couch
- Test on small areas of Buffalo (e.g. ST85) before broad application
- Use a surfactant when treating difficult-to-wet weeds
- DO NOT apply if weeds or turf are under stress or when frosts are imminent.
- DO NOT use if rain is expected within 4 hours.
- DO NOT use clippings as mulch around other plants or for composting.
- DO NOT use on Bent grass or Winter grass golf and bowling greens.
| Situation | Weeds Controlled | Application Rate | Critical Comments |
| Turf | Broadleaf weeds including; White Clover (Trifolium repens) Plantain (Plantago lanceolata) Capeweed (Arctotheca calendula) Cat’s ear (Hypochoeris radicata) Bindii (Jo-Jo, Onehunga) (Soliva sessilis) Cudweed (Gnaphalium spp.) Creeping oxalis (Oxalis corniculata) |
5 L in 200-500L water/ha | Apply to actively growing weeds. Transient discolouration may occur on Kikuyu, Carpet grass and Queensland Blue Couch. Varietal differences in certain Buffalo grasses (e.g. ST85) may produce more pronounced effects and it is recommended that small areas be tested for turf safety before large-scale application occurs. Avoid exceeding application rates through overlapping sprayed areas. Use a surfactant for difficult to wet weeds. |
