Disease Analysis

Nuturf’s Turfgrass Disease Analysis service provides professional identification and severity assessment of turfgrass diseases to help turf managers minimise damage and disruption to playing surfaces. Turf diseases can rapidly reduce turf quality and appearance, and their behaviour often varies significantly depending on environmental conditions, making accurate diagnosis essential for effective management.

While some diseases may be identified through visual inspection, many cases require laboratory-based diagnostic testing to determine the exact pathogen involved and to formulate a targeted control strategy.

Nuturf’s diagnostic process is designed for accuracy and actionable results. Once a turf sample is received:

  • It undergoes moist incubation for 24 hours to stimulate disease development and better reveal the active pathogens.
  • A quantitative leaf infection count is conducted to assess disease severity.
  • A final percentage infection rating is provided (e.g., 60% of stolons infected with Rhizoctonia), delivering a clear and measurable picture of the outbreak’s intensity.

By combining scientific methodology with expert interpretation, Nuturf equips turf managers with reliable data to make informed treatment decisions and safeguard the health, appearance, and playability of their surfaces.
