Agador® Turf Nematicide and Miticide is a specialised turf protection product formulated with 20% abamectin, designed to control highly destructive sting nematodes and turf mites. Its unique chelated formulation protects the active constituent, allowing improved soil penetration and more effective contact with target pests within the soil profile.
Agador is widely used across professional turf environments, including golf and bowls greens, turf farms, sporting fields, parks, ovals, and fairways, where nematode and mite pressure can significantly impact turf performance and root health.
Key Benefits of Agador Turf Nematicide and Miticide:
- Effective control of highly destructive Sting Nematodes in turf
- Unique chelated formulation to ensure effective protection of the active ingredient for optimal soil penetration and contact with nematodes
- Effective control of destructive couch mites in turf
- Visual turf greening due to iron chelate in formulation
- Flexible rate ranges for control of nematodes and mites for up to 3 months
- Versatility for use on golf and bowls greens, turf farms, sporting fields, parks, ovals and fairways
How Agador® Works
Agador contains abamectin (20%), delivered in a chelated suspension concentrate formulation. The chelation process protects the active ingredient during application, enabling improved movement into the soil profile where nematodes are active.
Once in contact with target pests, Agador disrupts their normal function, reducing population numbers and minimising damage to turf roots and plant health. When used for mite control, Agador is applied as a foliar treatment to ensure effective contact with the pest.
Application Timing and Rate Variation
Agador is particularly effective against sting nematodes, with application timing best positioned around population build-up periods, typically from October onwards. Accurate soil sampling is essential to determine infestation levels and guide spray intervals and application rates.
For example, if initial sampling reveals 80 nematodes per 200 g of soil, a program of 2–3 applications at 2 L/ha on a 21-day interval can be implemented. This strategy helps reduce nematode populations and minimise turf damage through peak pressure periods, often maintaining protection until the New Year.
For full application details, rates, and safety instructions, always consult the product label.
Mixing and Compatibility
Agador is a suspension concentrate (SC) formulation with minimal odour. It mixes completely with water and may be tank mixed with many commonly used fungicides and liquid fertilisers.
When applying Agador for nematode control, it should be applied as a soil application to ensure penetration into the root zone. When used for mite control, Agador should be applied as a foliar application to maximise contact with the target pest.
