Nuturf offers a range of analytical soil services which offer the turf manager an invaluable set of tools for successful turfgrass maintenance.
Get Results http://nuturf.getresults.nu/
Nuturf’s Getresults website offers an invaluable tool for agronomic, budgeting and other management applications in the workplace. It is a virtual platform for storing, displaying
and editing Nuturf’s soil, water and tissue analyses. The website has now been running for a number of years and has processed over 30,000 Australian soil samples – all the while improving on the service and functionality that is offered through Getresults.
Using the interactive tools available on the Getresults website, all report data can be graphed and compared for many management uses such as determining the efficacy of a nutrition program or viewing the impact of sodium on calcium availability. Key features of the Getresults website:
- Results are always accessible and printable online.
- Offers the ability to compare results in many different ways, focussing
on the individual parameters that you desire. - Graph your results to track the health of your soil over a period of
time; this can give an indication of the success of current and past
nutritional practices. - Fast turn-around times – once results are completed at the lab they are posted online immediately.
- Free to activate when you purchase a web-based soil, water or tissue analysis, with no ongoing costs.
- Online features extend to Nuturf’s other web-based analysis such as Irrigation Suitability Analysis and Plant Tissue Analysis.
Our Services
Premium Soil Analysis
Analysis can provide the turf manager with a vital tool for efficient and successful turfgrass maintenance. This comprehensive soil analysis is specifically designed for turfgrass and covers all parameters important to turf growth. Testing is undertaken in Australia for local conditions. Results are posted on Nuturf’s Getresults website allowing for data manipulation and interactive graphing.
Basic Soil Analysis
This is an efficient and cost effective service that highlights major soil quality issues. This basic package offers a brief insight into soil fertility as an excellent starting point for problem solving or soil monitoring. This analysis is not presented on the Getresults website.
Saturated Soil Analysis
Analysis is an excellent for use when troubleshooting turfgrass issues. In this test a sample of irrigation water is mixed with the soil sample to form a past. Nutrients are extracted from the paste to give an accurate picture of what nutrients are directly available for plant uptake in the profile. This also offers an indication of the impact of irrigation water quality on soil chemical conditions and can reveal a lot about soil chemistry when undertaken in conjunction with a Premium Soil Analysis and an Irrigation Suitability Analysis. These results are displayed on the Nuturf Getresults website.
USGA Physical Soil Analysis
Analysis gives a comprehensive and complete insight into the physical attributes of a turfgrass profile material. Ideal ranges are based on USGA Guidelines for Green Construction, which offers an excellent indication of post construction surface performance, taking into consideration particle size, hydraulic conductivity and porosity ratios. Physical analysis packages can be tailored to the specific needs of the turf manager.
Cricket Wicket Assessment
The unique nutrient and structural characteristics of a cricket wicket require a specific analytical test to identify key nutrient levels including trace elements, clay and organic matter content, soil dispersion through the Emerson Class test, and cracking pattern. This range of analyses provides a cost effective overview of the expected performance characteristics of a clay wicket.
Bunker Sand Analysis
The Bunker Sand Analysis focuses mainly on the physical characteristics of a sand, to identify its suitability for use in a golf bunker. This test package covers parameters that provide an indication of drainage characteristics, surface crusting potential, angle of repose (the angle at which the sand begins to slide off the bunker wall) and ball plugging severity. The report also comments on colour, crusting potential and particle shape.
ChemChek Water Analysis for Pesticide Performance
The ChemChek Water Analysis is a new initiative from Nuturf designed to help pesticide applicators tackle one of the main issues affective pesticide performance and effectiveness. This analysis covers parameters that impact on the performance of pesticides when poor quality water is used as a carrier. With this tool, the pesticide applicator can understand the effects their water is having on the specific pesticides that they are applying. Recommendations are made if necessary with a view of maximising the quality of the water for optimum pesticide performance.
Irrigation Suitability Analysis
The characteristics of water used to irrigate a turf surface will often reflect the health of the soil, and in turn the quality of the turf. This is especially true during the summer
months, when irrigation is at its highest and rainfall is often low. During this period, irrigation water quality will have its biggest affect on the soil, therefore it is always important to understand the specific characteristics of you irrigation source coming into summer.
Nuturf’s Irrigation Suitability Analysis provides the most comprehensive turf orientated chemical water analysis in Australia. It measures all important parameters with guidelines specific for turf growth. A key attribute of this test is the Tendency to Precipitate Calcium graph which indicates the waters impact on the solubility of Calcium in the soil.
Environmental Water Analysis
The Environmental Water Analysis is an excellent package for monitoring water quality from an environmental and human safety point of view. The standard package measures Nitrogen, pH, conductivity, Biological Oxygen Demand, E coli, Faecal content, turbidity and suspended solids. Customized packages are available for specific situations, with optional extras including pesticide residue, heavy metals, inorganic compounds, and algae identification and count.
Premium Plant Tissue Analysis
What better way to understand what nutrients the turfgrass plant is effectively utilising, than to analyse the tissue itself. Used in conjunction with Nuturf Soil Analysis – the Nuturf Tissue Analysis is an invaluable tool in trouble shooting, quantifying nutritional requirements and fine tuning fertiliser programs for maximum efficiency.
The Nuturf Tissue Analysis can provide the turf manager with a tool to ascertain the actual nutritional makeup of the turfgrass plant, and in turn determine if success is being achieved through the current fertiliser program. The test looks at all the major and minor nutrients, and guidelines are based on specific turfgrass species. This is important as different species have varying nutritional requirements and toxicity thresholds. This is a web based package available on the Getresults website with excellent data manipulation capabilities.
Nematode Extraction
When dealing with nematodes, you want a fast, reliable and professional service. Our Agronomy Services team offers just that. We understand the nature of nematode management, particularly from a turf manager’s perspective, and as a result our nematode extraction service offers many benefits.
We use only the most qualified laboratory and reports are written by highly qualified professionals who calculate a unique rating system that is used to rate nematode damage potential. Our report not only looks at nematode species, but also provides an analysis of your root health. The report includes photographs of root samples provides, information on the nematodes present, plus additional management considerations.
Disease Diagnosis
The Disease Diagnostic service is aimed at providing a more visual and comprehensive review of disease activity in relation to the plant, with photos and analysis of disease severity provided. The disease diagnosis identifies disease occurrence and quantifies the severity of each pathogens’ infection. A holistic approach is used when discussing control, taking into account cultural, managerial and fungicidal options, providing the turf manager with the knowledge and means to make effective disease management decisions.
Root Health Assessment
Roots are your turfs best asset through the summer, acting as a buffer to heat stress through accessing available soil water. To ensure the health and functionality of your turfs root system, Nuturf’s Root Health Assessment provides a quantitative analysis on root zone attributes including root colour, deterioration, length, thatch depth, nematode and root pathogen severity. This comprehensive analysis can be useful in assisting with managing both Couch and Summer decline diseases, can help in renovation timing and monitoring and is useful in evaluating nutrition program efficiency. It provides the turf manager with a true snapshot of where their turf is at, and what is required to improve its health.
Weed and Insect Identification
The Weed and Insect Identification services utilise photographs to explain how the ID was established. In addition, an overview of the pest lifecycle is explained and a control program is provided to remove the stress and provide insight when managing plant protection issues. This service provides the turf manager with an understanding of the pest and how environmental and cultural factors affect their occurrence. Control programs are provided to limit future problems to make management of the pest less complex and stress free.
